About Us.

Building Resilience. Empowering Lives. Transforming Futures.

U-Rise is a legally registered community-based organization rooted in rural Western Kenya. Since our inception in 2022, we have been on a bold mission: to improve the lives of the most vulnerable—especially children, adolescents, and women living with neurological disorders and other disabilities.

At the heart of U-Rise lies a deep belief: every person, regardless of their condition or background, deserves a life of dignity, inclusion, and opportunity.

Our commitment to empowering communities and fostering resilience starts with understanding and supporting the unique needs of individuals.

The U-Rise approach begins with community mobilization, which involves bringing together people with disabilities, and those with neurological disorders.

Central to U-Rise’s strategy is Inclusive Agricultural Enterprise Development, which seeks to empower community members through sustainable agricultural business practices.

Strategic Focus

Empowering vulnerable communities through inclusive health, climate-smart livelihoods, and creative advocacy—driving sustainable change from the ground up.

Neurological Health and Inclusive Care Systems

Psychology + IGAP + SDG 3 (Health & Well-being)
We strengthen inclusive, community-driven health systems that provide accessible care for people with epilepsy and neurological conditions—prioritizing mental well-being, early intervention, and continuity of care.

Climate-Smart Livelihoods and Nutrition

Strategic Management + SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 13 (Climate Action)
We promote agroecological farming as a dual solution—building climate resilience and supporting brain-friendly nutrition for vulnerable families, especially those impacted by neurological disorders.

Youth Empowerment through Creative Advocacy

Psychosocial Development + SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
We use art, storytelling, and digital tools to amplify the voices of youth—especially those living with epilepsy or from the streets—transforming trauma into action and building identity, leadership, and visibility.

Social Inclusion, Rights, and Policy Change

Management + IGAP Objective 5 + SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality)
We influence policy and public perception to challenge stigma, uphold disability rights, and embed equity in local governance, health, and education systems.
